Due to a shortage in qualified Fire and Security Systems Engineers in the Northern Ireland Industry, members of this federation have committed to employing new apprentices every year.
The Fire and Security apprenticeship is regulated by Apprenticeships NI and is a full NVQ level 3 apprenticeship.
On completion of an apprenticeship, newly qualified engineers can earn £20k - £30k per annum plus a company vehicle, callout allowances and other benefits (depending on the employer).
Qualified engineers then have the ability to progress into other roles such as Supervision, Operational Management, Sales, HSQE and Senior Management positions.
